From the Present: 

Children, be careful of mothers with psychology degrees. They are tricky. They will constantly mastermind new schemes to make you behave. One such ruse my mom thought up was to keep a 3×5 card on the refrigerator name with all of our names on them. Everytime we did something good, or completed a chore, we received a “+”, or positive. Bad behavior netted us a “-“, or negative.

At the end of the week we could take our positives (minus our negatives) and there was an auction. My mom would take out a basket of awesome shit (often containing dinosaurs), and we could bid against our other siblings. Obviously, better behavior meant we had more to spend and could outbid our less behaved siblings.

September 15^th 1996 – Age 11

From the Past: 

Boy today was great. It was Sunday and we went fishing. We didn’t catch anything, but it was fun anyways and tonight was the Positive-Negative auction. I got a wallet, a wood burner and dinosaurs. 

From the Present:

Speaking of Dinosaurs. When I moved from Montaña to North Dakota, a friend, who I supposed must have been my best friend at age 5 (we put soldiers in milk together for Christ sake), gave me a video filled with awesome shit. One of these awesome things featured Hardcore Dinosaur Rock Music song “Mesozoic Mind”. Recently my older brother found this clip on Youtube (God bless it. God bless Youtube), which launched me back into my past and the world back some 100 million years.

Apparently, I the dinosaur rock video has stood the test of time and is still awesome. For your pleasure, it is posted below. If you do not think it is awesome, then you sir, suck. (But seriously, who let the triceratops play the piano?)
