When I was 13 and saw the movie “That Thing You Do,” I decided that I wanted to be in a band and starting writing songs. This one was crossed out in my journal when I realized that the rhyme scheme and melody mimics (plagiarisms!) the song “That Thing You Do” from the movie “That Thing You Do.”

July 1998 – Age 13

Me—— flying about with you. 

Is something I’ve got to do. 

Oh I have tried to hard to picture it

But I just can’t picture me and you. 

Oh yeah you, think you’re so great,

It’s something I’ve come to hate,

….Etc…

Yes, this is embarrassing to re-read….
