From the Present:

Dreams, the smoldering tapestries that occupy the forgotten half of our lives. When I try to remember them, I can only recall a half dozen dreams, though there are so many thousands that I held onto for a moment before they returned from the unknown heaven or hell from which they came. But I do remember one very well, because I wrote it down. I also remember how blissful I felt from it the day after what at the time was “the best dream I’d ever had”. Thanks eight year old self for writing it down and keeping it safe for me all these years.

From the Past:

May 12^th, 1994 – Age 8

Dear diary. I had the best dream I ever had. I was going to see my old friend Kristy. And Jessica was coming. When Kristy saw her she said, “Who’s that? Your maid?” Then I said, “No, I’m her boyfriend.” Kristy was a brat in the dream. The next day was Thursday. We had mass at school and it was my happiest mass ever! (: (:
