A Stroll Down Poker Memory Lane

When I take a stroll down memory lane circa 2004, I remember spending a lot of time in my college dorm playing online poker. This was fun and earned me some monies until I became somewhat obsessive about it and started spending about 8 hours a day (well, night since I would stay up all night playing) and was losing sometimes hundreds of dollars at a time.

When I realized that the bank account I had been building my whole life was gone, I cam to the conclusion that this was a problem, and I needed  to do something about what, while maybe not an addiction, was a money draining compulsion. One bad influence I had in my life was a friend who was earning thousands of dollars a week at online poker, and I saw that and thought, “Hmmm, if he can do it, why can’t I do it?” Well, he eventually lost a big stack of cash as well.

We were doing at the time what we certainly should not have been doing, playing for real cash. If we really liked poker so much, what I wish we were doing is playing free poker tournaments on a site like FreePokerTournaments.com. It certainly would have saved us the fat stacks of cash we were throwing out daily.
