Not Letting Society Run Who I Am

Hey what’s up and happy 4th of July. I like my life right now. My band’s last two gigs (sleepy hallow and light club) have gone really good and I just wrote 2 songs that are really cool. Mary has been at drama camp. But she has called me 4 or 5 times since she has been there, so that is awesome.

Tonight was cool. I hung with Teresa, Steph, Anne, Allen then we went to Jeff’s house and lit off some fireworks.

Then I came home and looked at porn. I really can’t do that anymore. Just when you think you are beyond something, there it is.

Then Aaron came home and was really drunk. But he told me some stuff that he never did before. That he lost his virginity when he was a junior in high school.

It kinda made me think about stuff though. Because I guess when I was about in the 6th grade I kinda modeled myself after Aaron and he was a big role model for me. If he didn’t drink now, I’m not positive that I would’ve started.

But there comes a point where I want to draw the line and have this be me and him be him. None of this pressure by society to get a certain base. Right now I am happy with the relationship I have with Mary.

And it isn’t about getting to a base with her. If I did, fine, but I like her just because I like her. Not for any sort of status. There comes a point where I am just going to be me and not let society run who I am.
